Tour Itinerary


Day 01 Mumbai (Bombay)/Mysore

Catch the morning flight to Bangalore. On arrival drive to Mysore and check in at the hotel.

Day 02 & 03 Mysore

For the next two days visit places in and around Mysore. In Mysore visit the Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hills that is famous for its Nandi temple. Visit Tippu Sultan’s capital Srirangapattna, which is just outside Mysore. Visit the Kesava Temple at Somnathpur built by the Hoysala Dynasty that is an exquisite example of Hoysala architecture.

Day 04 Mysore/Nagarhole National Park

Drive to Nagarhole National Park that is inhabited by over 250 species of birds, elephants, tigers, leopard etc. On arrival transfer to hotel.

Day 05 Nagarhole

Day free to explore the wildlife park.

Day 06 Nagarhole/Ooty/Coonoor

In the morning drive to Ooty the popular hill station on the Nilgiri Hills. Coonoor is about 13kms from Ooty and is not as crowded as Ooty is. On arrival transfer to hotel and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 07 Coonoor

Walk around the Nilgiri Hills or Blue mountains; visit a tea estate, the botanical gardens at Ooty and Coonoor. You could take the Blue Mountain Train down to Mettupalayam.

Day 08 Coonoor/Kochi (Cochin)

Drive along the Malabar Coast to Kochi. On arrival transfer to hotel.

Day 09 Cochin

In the morning take a tour of the city; visit the Synagogue, Dutch Palace, ST. Francis Church and the spice market. In the afternoon take a habour cruise and visit some islands close by and the famous Chinese Fishing Nets.

Day 10 Kochi/Periyar

After breakfast drivel to Alleppey and take the motorboat to cross the Vembanad Lake to Changancherry. From here drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary on the Cardamom Hills.

Day 11 Periyar

In the morning and evening take a boat ride on the Periyar Lake to watch the wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 12 Periyar/Madurai

Drive to Madurai. On arrival transfer to hotel.

Day 13 Madurai/Karaikadi

In the morning drive to the Chettiand region that is about 90kms east of Madurai. Chettinad is the home of the Nattukottai Chettiars a prosperous banking community. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 Karaikudi

Explore the Chettinad region. Visit some of the huge mansions that are known for their architecture.

Day 15 Karaikudi/Tanjore

Drive to Tanajvur or Tanjore and visit some of the important temples in this town including the famous Brihadeeshwara temple that is thought to be the most splendid Chola temple every built. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 16 Tanjore/Trichy

Drive to Trichy and visit the Rock Fort Temple and the temple complex at Srirangam that is on an island in the River Cauvery.

Day 17 Tanjore/Pondicherry

In the morning leave Tanjore and drive through the temple towns of Kumbakonam and Chidambaram to Pondicherry. This erstwhile French colony still bears the stamp of its colonizers in its architecture and layout. On arrival check in at the hotel and overnight at the hotel.

Day 18 Pondicherry/Mahabalipuram

In the morning visit the famous Aurobindo Ashram founded by the Bengali philosopher in the early part of the 20th century. After this visit drive to Mahabalipuram and visit the beautiful rock temples and rock carvings built by the Pallava. Check into the hotel and the rest of the day is free. You could relax on the beaches of Mahabalipuram. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 19 Mahabalipuram/Kanchipuram/Chennai (Madras)

Drive from Mahabalipuram to Chennai and on the way stop at Kanchipuram to visit the 7th century Kailasanatha and Vaikuntaperumal temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu respectively. Kanchipuram is also famous for the silk that it produces. On arrival at Chennai transfer to airport to board the flight for your onward journey.
